This African Renaissance Monument was built by Mohamed Gorgui Seyni Gueye (1926–2007) on one of theDeux Mamelles hills in Ouakam and was unveiled on April 4, 2010
It is popularly believed that it was the masjid was revealed to Mohamed Gorgui Seyni Gueye in a dream and he followed this dream to build the masjid at its present location. The construction of the masjid lasted from 1992 till 1997. It features two tall minarets and has a simple yet beautiful design and décor. From the roof of the masjid visitors can get complete views of the surroundings.
