20th April 2009
It was like waking up from a dream and realizing that reality was so much worse.
After an awesome holiday (though towards the end it was kinda fucked up sha) I headed down to the airport today to board the Arik noon flght to Lagos. After I said goodbye to everyone, I finally boarded leaving all the goodness of home and also tiring girl-issues behind. This was my journey back to a place where I could clear my head….
I was so wrong to think that
The trip kinda sucked anyway. Babies crying here and there for the full 45 mins of the flight. Finally I arrived and Mr. F (lets just call him Mr F for now) made matters worse with his stupid yans of how people are trying to jazz him. Telling me about some imaginary spider he killed in the car, how it disappeared, and how he’s sure someone sent it after him…what a loon.
As I approached the house, it was like the gates of hell were being opened and the gate-man was Satan saying “Welcome back to hell boy”. Oh well…at least tomorrow its back to school for me. I cant’t wait to spend less time in this Fuji house of commotion.
This is the first post in a series of journal entries by a certain young man (Let’s call him “young man” for now) who grew up in Nigeria and schools in the UK. Stick around for more journal entries!
